Azada Verde ("Green Hoe" in Portuguese) is a Mozambican conservation initiative dedicated to the restoration and protection of the country's critically important coastal mangrove ecosystems. Mangroves are among the most carbon-dense habitats on earth — essential nurseries for marine life, natural storm barriers, and the backbone of coastal fishing communities across Mozambique.

This 12-day journey combines a guided safari in Maputo National Park, a tranquil lakeside stopover at Chidenguele, and four days of hands-on Azada Verde mangrove restoration based at Tofo Beach. A private 4x4 Land Cruiser and guide accompany you throughout — from arrival in Maputo to your final airport transfer.

Beyond the ocean, Tofo boasts a laid-back, bohemian atmosphere. The lively local market offers fresh produce, vibrant capulana fabrics, and incredible seafood. During your stay, Tofo serves as the critical hub for your conservation mission:

★Blue Carbon Hub: The nearby Inhambane estuary is home to vital mangrove forests — crucial nurseries for the marine life Tofo is famous for and massive carbon sinks.
★Ocean Safaris: On your free day, embark on optional ocean safaris to swim alongside marine giants in the wild.

Your Accommodations

Maputo (Days 1 & 11) — Hotel Terminus

A classic, comfortable hotel situated in the heart of Maputo. It offers an elegant retreat with modern amenities, an excellent restaurant, and a refreshing pool — the perfect starting and ending point for your Mozambican adventure.

Maputo National Park (Days 2–3) — Camp Mabeco

An exclusive, luxury tented camp offering a raw and authentic safari experience. Nestled deep within the park, the camp blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, allowing you to fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush after a day of tracking elephants through coastal forests. Two nights full board.

Chidenguele (Day 4) — Naara Eco Lodge

An award-winning eco-lodge built on the banks of Lake Nhambavale. Your luxury safari tent overlooks the tranquil freshwater lagoon — a sanctuary of peace offering high-end sustainability, exceptional birdwatching, and lakeside relaxation.

Tofo Beach (Days 5–10) — Turtle Cove

Your base for the Azada Verde project. Turtle Cove is a relaxed, eco-chic lodge famous for its yoga shala, surf culture, and welcoming community atmosphere. Surrounded by palm trees, it offers comfortable chalets and serves as the perfect restorative space after a morning of planting mangroves.
